英国作家詹姆斯·米勒（威廉·施梅尔WilliamShimell饰）来到意大利城市托斯卡纳为新作《合法副本》举办讲座。他与读者讨论书中的观点：关于艺术创作真实性的议论是毫无必要的，因为复制品本身即是原作，原作也是由其他作品复制而来。一个做古董买卖的法国女人（朱丽叶·比诺什JulietteBinoche饰）带着11岁的儿子参与了讨论会，想为刚买的书索要签名。中途因为儿子饿了她提前离开，临走时留下了一个电话号码。米勒和女人在她的古董店再次相遇，他们驱车去郊外看一样东西。她开着车载着米勒无目的游荡，谈论书的主题，参观博物馆，谈论她叛逆的儿子，两人一路上争吵不休。在一个咖啡馆，女老板以为米勒是女人的丈夫，就开始和她围绕米勒讨论起婚姻。于是他们将错就错，米勒开始扮演女人的丈夫，两人约会，去宾馆。但是副本只是复制，而非原作，米勒结束复制身份，独自离开了郊外。比诺什凭借此片获得第63届戛纳电影节主竞赛单元最佳女演员奖。

「SPEC～警視庁公安部公安第五課未詳事件特別対策係事件簿～」はTBSの2010年10月期ドラマとして放送され,続編「SICKS」シリーズの製作も行われた。「SPEC」でカギとなる預言の数々を行ったキーマン的存在?冷泉俊明に焦点を当てた今作では,冷泉と侍従の豊福真己が過去を回想する形で物語が進んでいく。冷泉は若かりし頃,本名である鈴木俊明の名で,詐欺まがいの高齢者向け健康食品を訪問販売していた。営業の途中で車にひかれそうな老人を見つけた鈴木俊明は,持ち前の生真面目さで助けるもそこで頭を強打。さらに別の営業先で後頭部を強打し,脳に異変が起こり始める。その後,ボランティア活動をしていた赤木美里に心を奪われてしまうと同時に暴漢に襲われ3度目の頭部強打をしてしまい,ついに特殊能力であるSPECが目覚めるのだった。
