ABC喜剧《格尔伯格一家TheGoldbergs》曾经在16年开发衍生剧但没获预订，而电视网在美国时间1月24日放出拍好的试映集后（S05E00「1990Something」那集），倒是因为反应良好令ABC决定改变主意预订该衍生剧，现定于19年1月9日首播，由《格尔伯格一家》前导。暂定13集的《校园时代Schooled》定于90年代，主角包括Glascott校长﹑Mellor教练及LaineyLewis（TimMeadows﹑BryanCallen及AJMichalka饰演），他们虽然有怪癖﹑个人生活有点疯狂，但仍然是学生们心目中的英雄。BrettDier饰演C.B.，此角色是改编自母剧主创AdamF.Goldberg的老师兼朋友，C.B.是名年轻﹑活跃的老师，在课堂上以滑稽的方式与学生互动，他亦是菜鸟老师LaineyLewis的朋友/对手。衍生剧原构念是复制《格尔伯格一家》的家庭喜剧模式，后来改为注重在校园喜剧这方向，新增了母剧的LaineyLewis一角。
