TVB周播剧《金宵大廈》新劇舉行拜神開鏡儀式，焦點除了集中在陳山聰第一次做男主角之外，《降魔的》編審羅佩清也是重點之一，事關《降》劇好評如潮，大家都覺得故事十分有意思。不過今次《金》劇有別於《降》劇，因為不是放在黃金時段播放，而是放在星期日的炮灰時段。不過如果是一套好劇，放在朝早六點一樣會有人睇，關鍵在於好與不好，羅佩清說：「每個單元故事都有一條主線串連住，係一套現代《七十二家房客》但有科幻奇幻元素，主線係前世今生的故事，會講夢、寓言、自然力量，會有曼德拉效應，有UFO，會好似《I,robot》咁。每個單元都有獨立故事，都有自己特色的奇幻色彩，不過就不同《降魔的》，没有妖魔鬼怪，今次係比較接近衛斯理嗰種奇幻，集中香港地道的故事，會有訊息想帶出，係一個新嘗試。」不單止這樣，她還表示今次直程要借鏡英劇《黑鏡》：「不同于《降魔的》，今次是單元劇，如果《降魔的》係有實驗性質，这套實驗性更加強。我没有特别去想剧情爆点，大家編劇圍在一起写了一些最有共鳴的故事，例如高海寧那个单元的故事係講校童抑鬱，有個講香港社會對女性美的追求，例如瘦同整容这些。我们想的这个剧格局是有点像英劇《黑鏡》，每個故事本身不複雜，但是就想玩得破格，將訊息帶出来。算係港版《黑鏡》，但我们未去到好科技，始終香港人未必適應呢啲元素，所以要擺返多啲本地因素，希望大家睇得有共鳴。」
