Actor Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness traveled to Ethiopia in their role as ambassadors for World Vision Australia in 2009. During that visit, they met Dukale, a coffee farmer. Growing up, poverty had deprived Dukale of an education, but he saw an opportunity to create a new future for his family when World Vision offered access to a new kind of economic empowerment. Jackman was so inspired by Dukale’s story, that he made – and kept – a promise to him that is revealed in the film.

His family decides to go back on a holiday to India for 2 - weeks, when Tina discovers the truth about Pooja's e-mails, they decide together that Tina will play along with the charade. When Raj arrives in India, he is struck by Tina's beauty but equally as struck to Pooja's personality. On a coincidence Raj eventually realizes that he had been corresponding with Pooja, and he realizes that Pooja is his true love which forces Tina and her family to accept the fact that Raj and Pooja are suitable for each other and that the two should get marry under any circumstances.
